To The 'Hopelessly Single' Christian Girl
Sometimes, hope is a battle. Hoping is hard.
There are days where good things for the future — things like having a loving marriage and a family of your own — feel too far away, where giving into despair can feel as easy as falling asleep. There are days where our souls are decorated with sadness, where all we feel is worn out and empty. Days where you almost want to stop feeling. Stop hoping.
Life’s disappointments can often make us feel crushed and isolated. Things like past relationships not working out or not meeting Godly men, can cause us to lose hope. And what’s happening in the world around us, marriages falling apart and the prevalence of hookup culture, certainly doesn’t help. But I’m thankful we serve the God of restoration and endless possibilities.
Far too often, I see strive and strife, the inability to separate the soul from the things of this world. We forget or don’t even know that we were made for more than this lifetime, this world.
Far too often, we find ourselves tossed about by the brokenness of humanity, struggling to hold onto hope — but God does not want to leave us in that state.
When life feels overwhelming, remember that Jesus has overcome the very grip of death itself. There is no situation too dire that He can’t change. When something feels lost or hopeless, Jesus’ empty tomb, conquering death, rising from the grave are reminders that nothing is impossible. Through Him, we find not only the path to eternal life but also the strength to face life’s difficulties here and now.
When this world makes you feel like the creaking beams and rusted nail of a lonely vessel on a lonely sea, when you feel like the oars and the compass, the anchor and the wheel have long abandoned you, if then, I pray you use God as your tide. Let His waves deliver you once again to the shores of hope.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for being so faithful atnd trustworthy. Lord, when it feels difficult to believe and hope that you have a beautiful love story waiting for me, I declare that you are good and you have good things in store for my life. Thank you that when something feels lost or hopeless, Jesus’ empty tomb, conquering death, rising from the grave are reminders that nothing is impossible.
Father, it says in your word that you give us hope and a future. I choose to trust my future in your loving hands. I ask that you would give me hope over my future. When things get tough, I will pursue you first. I pray that you give me peace as I make choices in my life. I trust you to lead me in my love life.
Help me to walk in your love today. Help me to seek you and surrender my heart and love life to you. I want you more than anything or anyone else. I pray I would keep seeking you. I love you. I trust you to lead me.
Amen
